Banting hosts a night every January for future Broncos and their parents to see what the school has to offer, and League of Logic again participated in this event! We presented what can be done in our club as well as in some of the courses taught at Banting.

Science Expo

League of Logic attended Raider Robotics 5024’s Science Expo and taught kids about lego mindstorms as well as taught kids how to drive our robot. Boys and Girls Club

March 11, 2016 @ 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

At the boys and girls club, League of Logic gave presentations to children from the ages 6-13 about engineering, then dis interactive exercises using lego mindstorms so that they could have a chance to understand what we teach them during the lessons. We also showed off our Stronghold robot. Student groups ranged from 10 to 15 students.

North Bay Competition

Regional Competition League of Logic is competing in one regional FRC competition for 2016. League of Logic is competing in the North Bay regional from Wednesday March 23rd to Saturday March 26th. STEAM Program and Summer Camp Expo

April 9, 2016 @ 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The team ran several Hour of Code Scratch Workshop sessions for students, parents, teachers and educators at the Wortley Road Public School STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) Play Event. We had informational sessions about the importance of coding in the modern world, a workshop where those who attended were able to code their own video games from start to finish, and we also had a booth set up with LEGO Mindstorms robots on display, with information about FIRST Robotics…

World Championships

April 26, 2016 - May 1, 2016

After all of our hard work this semester, at North Bay we won the Rookie All-Star award which allowed us to qualify for the World Championship’s in St. Louis! There will be hundreds of teams at this competition in which team’s from all around the world will be attending.

Library Conference (Education Week)

May 2, 2016 - May 6, 2016

As an upcoming event, League of Logic will be hosting a conference in Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School’s library during lunch and during class for students, teachers, and other members of the Banting community. Some events and workshops that we will be running are LEGO Mindstorms introduction to robotics and Hour of Code sessions using Scratch.

WILDCARD 2016

May 6, 2016 - May 7, 2016

WILDCARD is an event put on by our high school annually for incoming  grade 8 students in the surrounding area. The goal of this event is to get the students excited for high school, and make them more comfortable with the idea of switching schools. This year League of Logic will be putting on a Robotics Expo event, to promote science and technology, while also garnering interest in our team for the potential future members.

WILDCARD 2017

Western University FRC Kickoff

January 5

On January 5th, our team, 5870, along with other teams from all over London will be participating in the Western University FRC Kick-Off and quick build. Here we will watch a live-stream from FIRST, participate in a strategy session and conceptualize the foundations of our robot design this year.
